Local & NSA Scholarships — More Are Coming!
Don’t worry if you aren’t seeing a lot of local or Northview-specific scholarships just yet! Many of these opportunities begin opening around January and continue throughout the spring, with new scholarships becoming available all the way up until graduation.
- Local businesses, organizations, community groups, and NSA partners often release scholarships at different times, so keep checking the Scholarship Guide throughout the year!
Also, if you are interested in the QuestBridge National College Match, this college and scholarship application connects high-achieving high school seniors from low-income backgrounds with full four-year scholarships to top colleges and lifelong opportunities through QuestBridge. It is due Oct. 1, 2026!

- Students should visit their application status portal and complete their Intent to Enroll form. Once the form is submitted and MyWS account is activated, students can access the scholarship application in the financial aid section of their portal. The application opened on Sept. 1, and the deadline to apply is Feb. 1, 2027.
- Walters State scholarships are awarded based on many factors. Some are reserved for students from specific counties or those majoring in a particular area of study, while others recognize academic achievement or demonstrated financial need.
- Scholarships may be available in areas such as athletics, debate and music. Funding for these scholarships is provided through endowments and donations made by generous donors to the Walters State Foundation.

UT Promise is a last-dollar scholarship available to Tennessee high school students who attend a UT campus and meet the $75,000 income threshold.
- UT Promise only covers tuition and mandatory fees. Mandatory fees include facilities fee, maintenance fee, library fee, student services fee, technology fee, transportation fee, etc. Visit your campus’ website for more information.
- Students will still be responsible for covering any costs beyond tuition and fees such as book expenses and food/housing; however, excess UT Promise funds can be applied to these additional educational expenses until they run out. Once excess funds have been applied, the student is responsible for the remaining educational costs (e.g. remaining cost of food/housing, transportation, course materials, etc.).

All NSA seniors will receive a FREE ACT at school on September 30! You do not need to register for this school-day ACT.
- If you would like another opportunity to test, an ACT will also be offered at Pigeon Forge High School on Saturday, October 17. This will be the paper-and-pencil (written) ACT.
Students who want to take the October 17 ACT will need to register separately and pay the ACT registration fee. The late registration deadline is September 29!

Student Eligibility & Requirements:
- Open to juniors and seniors.
- A signed permission slip is due by September 23rd to participate (no exceptions).
- Attendance is limited to the first 80 juniors and seniors who submit their completed permission slips & have no discipline record this school year.
The first 80 juniors/seniors that turn in a signed permission form to the guidance office will travel by bus to Pigeon Forge High School for the annual college fair. You will be gone from around 9:00 - 11:00 (if this impacts a Dual Enrollment course, please check with your professor before signing up).

The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) helps students apply for federal financial aid for college. FAFSA typically opens on October 1 each year. Our school will offer FAFSA Help Nights to help seniors and families complete the application and answer questions!
