Additional Counseling Services Offered

Helen Ross McNabb Counseling Services

We are fortunate to have a McNabb counselor on our campus who provides consistent support and counseling services to our students during the school day. This partnership allows students to receive help with emotional, behavioral, or personal challenges in a safe and confidential setting without having to leave school or miss unnecessary class time. Having this additional layer of support on-site ensures that our students have access to the resources they need to navigate difficult situations, build coping skills, and stay focused on their academic and personal success.

If you’d like more information about getting support from McNabb, just stop by the guidance office and talk to your school counselor!

School Counselors

A high school counselor provides academic, social-emotional, and college/career support to students. Counselors help with course planning, graduation requirements, dual enrollment, scholarship information, and postsecondary pathways. They also offer individual counseling, crisis support, conflict resolution, and referrals to outside resources when needed. High school counselors serve as advocates for students, work closely with teachers and families, and help create a safe, supportive, and inclusive school environment.

District Counseling Services

Your school system provides the opportunity for participation in School-Based Services such as access to counseling within the school day. The staff involved are professionals who have been trained to assist in assessing the needs of students, and to provide supportive counseling services. Because parents play an important role in the assessment and
intervention process, you may be contacted in order to gain key information as one of the steps in this process. Our success is dependent upon your participation and support. In order for the student to receive these services, permission is required by the parent/guardian.

If you’d like more information about getting support from our district-wide counselor, just stop by the guidance office and talk to your school counselor!
